Artificial Turf At Chelsea Flower Show

The organisers of the world famous Chelsea Flower Show have agreed to allow the use of artificial grass for the first time in the shows history.
Garden designer Tony Smith will use the fake grass in a cave that makes up part of his display. As the cave is dark it would not support any plants so head of show development at the RHS Bob Sweet said the rules have been waived in this instance. Normally the RHS advocate the use of real plants and this is the first time that they have allowed artificial plants in a flower show.
Tony Smith describes his latest garden design as eccentric and suggests it is not meant to be the for the average young couple.
